What do you do in your home country and what do you hope to do upon your return? In particular, with the integration of your experiences here?


I am from Botswana. I am an artivist, a human rights practitioner, and a communications specialist. Ideally, im looking to use this fellowship as another platform to garness support for artistic practitioning and those in the education industry to start utilizing their skills towards conscientizing people on their natural human rights, especially LGBTQ folk.


What is your favorite thing about your home country? How about Philadelphia?


At its core, the fundamentals and values of Botho means compassion and Thonpho, which means respect. When lived out by Botswana it shows you the best that we have to offer. The wildlife and natural landscape is definitely worth writing home about.


My favorite thing about Philadelphia is definitely not it’s transportation system. I appreciate the it’s walkability.


Do you have any hobbies or an interesting fact you wish to share about yourself?


Fun fact, I’m pretty good at pole dancing and I speak eleven languages. Karaoke is a hobby. I can karaoke any day, all day, everyday.


If I were to come to your home country, what is the first thing I should eat?


Bogobe jwa lerotse, morogo wa dinawa, seswaa, lephutse (melon porridge, bean greens, pounded beef, and pumpkin salad).
